This ethnographic film was made as part of his bachelor thesis. Shooting began in October 2016 when his friend Jakub Berger decided to renovate an old private gym and open it to the public. The main storyline followes the renovation of the gym. Shooting ended in June 2017, when Jakub put the finishing touches to the gym. He chose two other protagonists – professional bodybuilders Daniel Čech from Kolín and Martin Gabko from Mělník. The documentary captures their training and views of the bodybuilding lifestyle.
Tomáš Pospíšil was born in Kolín, Czech Republic. After graduating from the Business College in Kolín, he went on to study social anthropology at the University of Pardubice. One of his interests is sports. He has been doing natural fitness since 2010. A video featuring his body transformation over the years can be found on his Youtube channel: Tomáš Pospíšil - Fitness channel. In his first document Obraz Svého Těla (Image of Your Body), he follows the lives of three bodybuilders.
